Marine data

Marine weather, wave heights, wave periods, tides, currents, water temperature, wind, and forecasts shown in Fishability are estimates derived from third-party providers (including but not limited to NOAA/NWS, Open-Meteo, and radar sources). Conditions on the water can change rapidly and can differ from any forecast.

Always verify marine information with official forecasting agencies before heading onto the water. When in doubt, do not go.

Navigation

Fishability is not a certified navigation system. It is a supplemental information tool. Do not use Fishability as your sole or primary source of navigation, and do not rely on it for collision avoidance, depth information, or hazard identification.

Always carry proper marine navigation equipment, current nautical charts, redundant GPS, a VHF radio, and appropriate safety gear.

Weather

Weather conditions at sea can change rapidly and without warning. Storms, squalls, and lightning can develop faster than any forecast can predict.

You are responsible for continuously monitoring local marine conditions while on the water.

AI recommendations

The AI assistant ("Captain AI") provides recommendations only. Fishing success, weather interpretations, navigation suggestions, and safety guidance are not guaranteed and may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date.

You are solely responsible for the decisions you make based on AI output. Do not use AI suggestions as a substitute for professional judgment, licensed captains, official forecasts, or emergency services.

AI fish identification

Captain AI's photo-based fish identification is a best-effort estimate, not a certified identification. Species can be visually similar, photo quality varies, and juvenile or hybrid fish are especially difficult to identify from a single image.

Size limits, bag limits, seasons, protected-species rules, and possession regulations vary by state, water body, and time of year, and they change frequently. You are solely responsible for correctly identifying every fish you catch and for verifying current regulations with your state or provincial fish and wildlife agency before harvesting, keeping, transporting, or reporting any fish.

Fishability, its owners, employees, contractors, and partners are not liable for any citations, fines, license suspensions, seizures, criminal penalties, civil penalties, or other consequences resulting from a misidentification by the AI or from reliance on any AI-generated species, size, regulatory, or legality information. When in doubt, release the fish.
